Fan Replacement

Envirolet® fan replacement instructions.

Warranty

12VDC and 120VAC Fans in newly purchased complete Envirolet® systems are covered under a 5-Year replacement warranty. If you need to replace a Fan, please follow these instructions carefully. Contact us for technical support if you require assistance.

Safety

Un-plug (120VAC and 230VAC Electric models) or disconnect (12VDC models) the power supply cord before beginning any work on electrical components.

Attention - Using Non-Sancor Fans

Only use fans supplied by Sancor Industries Ltd. designed for Envirolet® Systems.

Do not use other fans.  Other "off-the-shelf" fans may look similar, but they are not!  This will affect the performance of your system and void your warranty.

Removal Instructions

Break Silicone Seal

Cut the silicone to break the seal around the top panel (self-contained models only) on your Envirolet® Composting Toilet system. Envirolet® Remote Systems have a fitted rubber gasket under the top panel.

Remove Screws

Carefully remove the screws fastening the top panel to the composting unit (for all models).

Disconnect Wiring

Disconnect the Wiring Harness plug that connects the top panel to the Envirolet® Works-In-A-Drawer™ electrical box (WID box) by pulling the male and female plug connections of the Wiring Harness apart.

Remove WID Box

Lift and remove the WID box out of the unit.

Remove Fan Screws

Remove the screws (there are 4) that attaches the Fans to the bottom of the WID box. Only remove the screws from the Fan that you are replacing. The Blower Fan will be under the attached Blower Pipe. Be sure to reattach the Blower Pipe before putting the WID box back into the system.

Remove Fan

Pull Fan out and carefully disconnect the wiring. Do not cut any wires.

Important Note

Check Airflow

Please be sure to check the airflow direction of the replacement Fan before installing it to ensure that it is installed correctly. The airflow of the Fan is indicated on the side of the Fan and is also indicated on the label (the air flows UP towards the label). Envirolet® Systems have 2 Fans. The Vent Fan blows air out of the Envirolet® System through the connected Vent Pipe. The Blower Fan blows air down into the bottom of the system. When looking at the WID box, with the open heater coil on the right-hand side (for 120VAC Electric models), your Vent Fan is located on the left-hand side. The Blower Fan is located on the right-hand side (towards the middle, near the heater in 120VAC Electric models).

Connect Replacement Fan

Connect the replacement Fan to the wiring and secure with the screws provided. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS.

Re-Insert WID Box

Place the WID Box back into the unit and secure the top panel with screws, then re-silicone to insure a proper seal.
